Mies van der Rohe: Barcelona Pavillion
Designed as the German national pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition, the Barcelona Pavilion is an emblematic work of the Modern Movement.
Glass, steel, travertine, marble and onyx were expressed through the rigour of their geometry, the precision of the pieces and the clarity of their assembly.
Still manufactured and marketed today, the leather upholstered metallic profile Barcelona chair has become an icon of modern design.
