Memories of Dublin

Updated: Feb 14

The Old Library of Trinity College Dublin is a must-see when in Ireland's Fair City or “The Dubs.”

The work of Thomas Burgh (Irish, 1670–1730), the library that holds many ancient texts (such as the Book of Kells, the Book of Durrow and the the Book of Howth) was completed in 1732.

Sir William Chambers (Scottish-Swedish, 1723–1796), architect to King George III, designed the College itself which was completed with Chambers having never set foot in Ireland during his lifetime.

The highest ranked university in the country, Trinity College Dublin is particularly acclaimed in the fields of law, literature and humanities.
