Finding Warmth in Grotto
The grotto sauna, brilliantly designed by Toronto architecture firm Partisans, is a feat of old-world craftsmanship and new-world sustainability and technology.
Located on Georgian Bay, Ontario, a simple exterior of cedar, charred using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method, houses a sinuous interior.
The entire assembly was prefabricated with a 3D scan of the landscape to minimise site impact and enable optimal positioning.
