Pelle Studio “integrates artistic exploration with architectural integrity” to create an original collection of hand-produced lighting, furniture and objects, including this sublime “Nana Lure 48” suspension lamp.

Created in collaboration with A. Jason Ross of Artemas Quibble, the fixture depicts a weathered banana leaf made of cast cotton, intricate leatherwork and hand-hewn brass.

A former dental surgeon and film producer (The Plague, 1992), American sculpture Jonathan Prince is inspired by nature, science, the human body, and ancient artefacts.

His works are a merging of man, machine, stone, and steel.

Fissures, ruptures, punctures, and gashes are recurrent motifs, often interrupting the highly polished, smooth surfaces of his sculptures, revealing contrasting rough and raw interiors.

“For me, the solidity and strength of stone and steel have always had a profound effect. These materials … connect me to the earth and its history.”

The grotto sauna, brilliantly designed by Toronto architecture firm Partisans, is a feat of old-world craftsmanship and new-world sustainability and technology.

Located on Georgian Bay, Ontario, a simple exterior of cedar, charred using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method, houses a sinuous interior.

The entire assembly was prefabricated with a 3D scan of the landscape to minimise site impact and enable optimal positioning.
